The inauguration ceremony starts with enlightenment of Deepak by our Chief Guests Mr.Pramod Soni, Dr.Vivek Sathe, Ms. Shiti Sharma and Dr.Dilip R. panghavne Director PIES, Indore followed by saraswati vandana sung by Ms. Madhavi Kate. After that our Director Sir welcomes all the Chief Guest, Hod's of all the department and congratulate students for organizing the Annual Function URJOTASV ' 12 .All the chief Guests Explain the importance of sports in the student life and over all personality development. Dr. Vivek Sathe tells that sports also increase the concentration of student and improve their logical skills. At last Prof.Suresh Batni ends the function with the thank u note.

PIES ,Indore has conducted five days faculty development program MISSION 10X sponsered by Wipro Technologies from 7th Feb 2012 to 11 Feb 2012.The faculties from Prestige Institute Engg. and Science,Shri Govindram Sekseria Institute of Technology and Science,Malwa Iinstitute of Technology,Shri Vaishnav Institute of Technology and Science Indore participated in the program.The program is divided in two parts first contain training for High Impact Teaching Skills and second is about Classroom Teaching.The program Brefing of the program was given by Ms.Shaila Hooli.The first session was conducted in two group The trainers wre MS.Lekha Jothi & Mr. Bhuwan Sunder and the Second session was conducted by Mr.Vasmi Gondi.The Chief Guest for Validatory session was Shree N. Mohandas Director MHRD New Delhi. MS. Shaila Hooli persent the other ventures of Wipro Technologies and motivates us to attend the the next stage of training.Ms. Smita Sohane from MIT,Indore ,Ms.Rupali Sagar From SVSITS,Indore and Ms.Deeksha Choudhary From PIES,Indore Shared there experiences of program.The program was organized by MS.Deepshkha Shukla and Ms. Sadhana Tiwari.

EC Department had organized a two days workshop on Robotics.

Workshop was conducted by Mr. SakyaSingha Mahapatra, Director of sakarobitics from Orissa. He trained our students to make Autonomous Robots & delivered several technical updates. In this workshop line follower, obstacle edge avoiding, grid solving, sound follower & different type of the Robot design, hardware, software & testing training is given to students.
        Students were developed their own robots by using technical skills. World has benefited drastically by robotic work force. Automated machines have taken over the duties of dangerous and tedious jobs from humans allowing greater productivity.

An Expert Lecture on Internal Combustion Engines

Mechanical Engineering Department of Prestige Institute of Engineering and Science has organized an Expert Lecture on INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES on 12th November 2011. For this Prof. V. Kumar who was a former Prof. at IIT Delhi and presently the vice chairman student activities western section at Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) at pune was invited. He shared his views about how automobile industry emerged in India and the present burgeoning growth of automotive sector. He elaborated on how after economic liberalization various automobile manufacturers expanded their domestic and international operations led to economic growth and allured investments from various multinational automobile manufacturers to India. At last he motivated our students to participate in Baja competition.

3-Days Workshop on Soft Skills Development

On November 10, 2011 a three days workshop on “Soft-Skills Development” was organized at Prestige Institute of Engineering & Science, Indore. A large number of students from first year civil branch had successfully participated into the workshop and get chance to improve their personality and other skills. They had learned lots of things like how to present themselves, how to shake hands, how to improve body language etc. One of the students Aditya Singh Ranawat said that he faced lots of difficulties while introducing himself with strangers, other student Ms. Neetu Choudhary said that she faced communication problem while sharing points to others. Ms. Reena Shahi who was the keynote speaker of the program share lots of experiences with the students and provide lots of solutions to their questionnaires. The trainer was accorded warm welcome by Prof. Suresh Batni, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, PIES, Indore and Prof. Piyush Choudhary, Head, Department of Training & Placement, PIES, Indore. Ms. Smita Nair successfully coordinated the workshop along with student coordinator Mr. Hitesh Bhojwani and Aakancha Chourasia.

Expert Lecture on “GSM N/W Architecture & 4Gof AIRTEL

Electronics & Communication Department of Prestige Institute of Engineering and Science has organized an Expert Lecture on GSM on 19th October 2011. Mr.Vishal Vyas the head of network quality AIRTEL and Mr.Mandeep Jindal the head of network security AIRTEL, has explained about the basic working and operation of GSM in the present interactive scenario and also demonstrated the difference between CDMA and GSM services. The speakers created a very learning environment for the upcoming engineers.

Expert Lecture on CNC Simulation

Mechanical Engineering Department of Prestige Institute of Engineering and Science has organized an Expert Lecture on CNC Simulation under ISTE Student Chapter on 18th October 2011. Mr.Jain, Mr.Lonsare and Mr. Mayank Arora from Samarpan Engineering Pvt. Ltd. has explained about the utility of CNC machines in present manufacturing scenario and also demonstrated the working of CNC Simulator Software. The CNC Simulator provides the virtual environment and at the same time helps to visualize various manufacturing operations. They explained various processes like CNC Turning, Milling, and Boring and virtually shown this operations. They also gave the knowledge about the Code generation.

Dr. N.R. Shetty sir says that there is the great need to change higher education and ISTE provide the platform for our students to exchange ideas with the 90000 faculties and 500000 students all over the world.

Mr. Nirmal Matharu talks about innovative ideas for industry need and country betterment proposed by ISTE members. He tells to enhance our skills to meet the industry need. He says “Life is a challenge and you have to conquer these challenges to move forward”.

Birthday of Chemistry father Dr. P.C. Ray

Chemistry Dept organized a seminar on the behalf of birthday of Professor P.C. Ray. She explained the detail of working done by mr. Ray. And also prize is distributed to the student who scored maximam marks in chemistry.

A more remarkable career than that of P.C. Ray could not well be chronicled”, wrote Nature, the famous international scientific journal, while commenting on the first volume of Ray’s autobiography.Prafulla Chandra Ray was the founder of the Indian School of modern chemistry. He was a pioneer of chemical industries in India. Ray’s activities were not confined to his laboratory and teaching. His activities concerned with all spheres of human interest—educational reform, industrial development, employment generation & poverty alleviation, economic freedom and political advancement of the country. He was a pioneer in social reform in the country. He took to social service with a missionary zeal. He was a great critique of the prevailing caste system in the Hindu society.

In his Presidential address to the Indian National Social Conference in 1917 he made a passionate appeal for removal of the caste system from the Hindu society. Ray was an ardent advocate of the use of the mother tongue as medium of instruction in schools and colleges. In recognition of his contribution towards the advancement and enrichment of Bengali language, he was elected the General President of the Bangiya Sahitya Parishad (1931-34). Ray symbolized the best of Indian tradition and philosophy.
